Prosecco sales soar for Valentine's Day

Wednesday 09 February 2022

Whether it gets you in the mood for love, or to you it’s just another hallmark holiday, there’s no denying Valentine’s Day is big business for Prosecco. Last year, Prosecco’s retail sales leapt 57% (Nielsen IQ) in the run up to the event versus the week before – that’s enough to raise a whopping 7,687,962 glasses. Cheers to love!

Prosecco has firmly established itself as the nation’s favourite sparkling wine and shows no sign of slowing down. With just 3% of wine drinkers reaching for it in 2007, that figure soared to 64% in 2018 (Wine Intelligence) and last year, its retail sales were worth 80% more than that of Champagne. So, with Valentine’s Day just round the corner, there’s no better time to review your sparkling range.

Since its launch in 2019, Proudly Vegan’s Prosecco has been a strong addition to the range. With delicate aromas of hazelnut and apple leading to a crisp refreshing finish on the palate, it’s an elegant Prosecco that taps into the ever-growing trend for plant-based food and drink – there are now 3.5 times as many vegans as there were in 2006, making it the UK’s fastest growing lifestyle movement (The Vegan Society).

Just as the label suggests, our Prosecco is 100% vegan right down to the ink and glue on the labels, making it perfect tipple to share around this Valentine’s Day.
