Accounts Assistant Salary: Competitive Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a great opportunity to join our Finance team as an Accounts Assistant who will assist in the effective operation of the transactional function of the finance team, comprising Sales Ledger & Credit Control. This role would suit someone wanting a career in Finance, with support to study for a recognised professional accounting qualification. Duties will include: - Production of daily sales and ad hoc invoices, including liaising with customer orders/sales office to ensure all goods despatched/bottled are invoiced correctly. Posting daily cash received. Maintenance of sales ledger database, processing any new accounts and amendments. Production of daily/monthly sales reports. Filing of daily duty declarations. Month/year end closedown of sales ledger, including aged debt reconciliation. Daily/monthly reconciliation and reporting to HSBC Finance. Production and issue of customer statements. Expediting payments from customers, including liaising with external customers to resolve queries in a timely manner. Ensuring customer credit limits are adhered to and holding orders where appropriate. Preparing monthly DD payments. Liaising with sales/senior management re issue of credit notes. Covering purchase ledger functions and cash book management in periods of absence. Key Skills/Competencies required: Previous experience of working in a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential. Be able to demonstrate high-level numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail. A positive thinker with ability to see areas for improvement to add value. Organised, ability to multi-task and to prioritise workload. Capable of working on own and using personal initiative.
