Laboratory Technician Salary: Competitive Reporting to: Laboratory Manager Main Purpose: Provision of routine laboratory analysis – Chemical, Microbiological and Physical - of alcoholic beverages and raw materials. Collection and preparation of samples. Updating and issuing of specifications and recipes. We are looking for either an experienced Laboratory Technician or an individual who has a keen interest in science and is willing to learn, as full training can be given. The role will involve routine laboratory analysis of products, collecting and preparing samples, documenting results, completing paperwork to BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards and working closely with other departments within the factory. We are looking for an innovative, forward-thinking individual to complement the existing laboratory team. Key Skills/Competencies required: It will be essential for the successful applicant to demonstrate the following: - Scientific interest. Excellent team-working and communication skills; a professional and flexible approach to tasks. Willingness to learn and develop. Excellent record keeping showing high work standards, accuracy and attention to detail with a strong quantitative and data focus. Interpersonal skills to work between departments. Good IT skills and experience of MS Office and database systems It would be desirable but not essential to demonstrate the following: - Qualified to A-level standard in a scientific subject or at least 2 years relevant laboratory experience.
