Broadland Drinks (BDL) is a supplier of Branded and Private Label wines and other drinks to some of the largest, fastest-growing retailers in the UK, EU and USA; three of the most competitive retail markets in the world.
How we work - We partner with retailers to identify opportunities to enhance their drinks categories, consumer loyalty, sales and profitability. We source bulk wines from all around the world and create other drinks in the UK. Packaging them at our site in Norfolk

About the role:
This is a new role which will be key to ensuring we modify existing products for customers as well as introduce and refine new innovative product concepts through the development process, ensuring that technical and quality standards are achieved and maintained. 
Reporting to the Quality & Technical Manager, the successful candidate will liaise closely with our Marketing (including Brand Management and Consumer Insight), Sales and Supply Chain teams to develop new products that will expand our range and create points of difference that will help us win business and drive sales and profitability.
This job offers an excellent opportunity to be creative, using your own ideas along with those of the wider business and customers to create drinks brands that consumers love.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Create and develop innovative recipes using brand briefs, developing product options for tasting, feedback and approval.
  • Manage NPD projects from concept ensuring products are compliant in terms of Food Safety, Quality standards and legal requirements.
  • Create and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and externally to understand our customer’s needs.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers, sourcing new and existing ingredients ensuring best quality and value.
  • Keep up to date with competitor products, innovation and the market to ensure we stay ahead of the curve.
About You:
The key skills & competencies required are:
  • Broad expertise in drinks New Product Development.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a beverage manufacturing (preferably soft drinks) development role
  • Passion for product innovation with proven record in successful product development
  • Evidence of successful project management
  • Have a food science degree or other relevant degree level qualification
  • Outward looking, market oriented and customer focused
  • Self-starter with strong organisational skills
  • Responsive and proactive, can-do attitude
  • Excellent communicator with accuracy of working
Pay and Benefits:
  • Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Full-time, 40 hours a week
  • Based in Cawston, Norfolk
